Those that Love Us

I was thinking the other day if I passed who would be affected by my death.

I didn't come up with a lot of names, but some that would be deeply, and greately affected.

Then I went to the thoughts of my mom. I thought how she didn't have a lot of people attend her funeral or wake.

I thought how small towns turn out and how they turned out for my father's funeral in 1997 because he was a native to that small town. But 25 years later things are different. We were in the midst of a pandemic and who knows she might have had more show if the pandemic had not been circulating through the small town.

Then I thought how my mom did not really touch lives outside of ours - her children, her grandchildren etc. She was an introvert. She wasn't a real humanitarian because it was all she could do to help those that were given to her to help and and theirs however I knew her heart, and I know if she could have she would have. She wanted more, but her illness and responsibilities didn't allow it. But she went on and just rolled with it.

She loved hers, Though it wasn't thousands she affected roughly around 50 people who were just family and close friends.

But oh those that love us. Those that are dear to us how they affect us. To hear her voice one more time. To hear her tell me about the past and her experiences growing up. To hear that again would be worth gold.

Those that love us are the ones that we are connected to,  the ones that connect to us.

That love is a beautiful thing. So no matter how large or how small a group we affect, love and being loved matter, we all touch someone. We all matter to someone.

In the end love matters, love is the key to life.

So remember that and treat all as if they matter because they do to someone!!
